HS2 Gets The Go Ahead

The proposed high speed rail line that would connect Birmingham and London has been officillay given the go ahead despite strong opposition from a number of local groups. Opponents have vigorously refuted government claims that it would bring £47bn worth of benefits, despite it being at a cost of £33bn.
